QUESTION: Can suicide be forgiven even if the person did it for another persons benefit or if the person was totally helpless . I read somewhere that if youre a Muslim and you ask for repentance before committing suicide youll be punished by Allah for sometime in hell and then be sent to heaven.

ANSWER: This is in Allah’s hands. As long as the individual had died a Muslim, his fate is with Allah; if He wills it, He will forgive him. Otherwise, he will punish him in hell for sometime but eventually, he will be admitted to paradise.

QUESTION: Sheikh.. I want to ask what should one do when his/her parents always keep comparing them to other children or even compare a girl child with a boy cause this leads to such a toxic heartbreak..?

I have had a long battle with mental illnesses, and sometimes when I eventually get overwhelmed or when a strong episode is triggered I may act in an irrational way and do haram things influenced by these problems or pervert my niyah. I would never do if I was in a healthy state. If I have no control on how I react to these things and am I sinful for these?

Sheikh, I have this habit of gargling after coming out of the washroom. I feel that I have breathed foul smelling air while relieving myself so I should gargle my mouth before saying the name of Allah (SWT). Is it necessary or am I doing wrong. Please advise. Sheikh, a lot of times I refrain from doing deeds because of fear of people, like I want to make dua in final tashahud and I take long time time people start looking at me and I stop and say Salam. Is it shirk?
