ANSWER: These are all efforts of our scholars to compile what they think are the names of Allah. However, no one can guarantee that these are the names as there isn’t any authentic hadeeth listing them.

Recently I have come to know that the 99 names of Allah are weak, (the hadith is sahih but not the names) The names have been classed weak by tirmidhi, ibn majaah and others.

ANSWER: There isn’t any specific list that is authentic. There are names that are agreed upon and other that are an issue of dispute.

Is the name “ALI” of the names of Allah , if it is would it be allowed for a Person to say “YA ALI” with the intention to call allah . Because the Shia say “ya Ali” do call upon the Sahabi Ali ra.

ANSWER: Al- Ali is one of the beautiful names of Allah, muslims can use this name in Duaa, and in calling Allah, but what shiaa does by saying “ya ali” is a pure shirk, because they call Ali bin Abi Talib but not Allah.

I heard people qualifying Allah as “spirit” or “energy”. This is shirk right ?

ANSWER: Allah is not described except with what He had described Himself or His Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. If one believes that He is energy , then this is kufr.

When Allah spoke to the prophet pbuh on the night journey, what did Allah’s voice sound like? Was it like deep or high pitch? Are there any evidences to Allah’s voice or if Allah speaks like us with His mouth or is it in a different method such as through vibrations or telepathically?

ANSWER: Reciting it is by learning their meanings and by calling upon Allah with these beautiful names, you call Him with the suitable name according to your situation. For example, you want forgiveness, you say Ya Ghafoor.

Is it Kufr that some Muslims say that Allah CANNOT die or CANNOT oppress, as Allah says He is All-Capable? In a website, I saw that the writer wrote that it is not permissible to say “CANNOT” because it sets a limit to Allah’s Capabilities. They say that rather one should say “He DOES NOT oppress and not that He CANNOT because He can oppress.”
