I am a girl i was in a haram relationship we broke up,repented. Now he proposed to me for marriage and wants to talk to my parents. I have told my parents about the guy they agreed to get me married to him but they wont allow me to marry before my elder sister.Now the guy and me are we in an Islamic engagement? If yes can we wait for 1 year before we can fulfill the marriage contract?

A girl worries wether her nikah is valid or not. She was totally willing for the nikaah. At nikah day, her father went straight to the mosque where imam of mosque and groom’s family were present knowing that his daughter is 100% willing for nikah . He told everyone that his daughter approves of marriage. So the groom and the imam with boy’s witnesses signed the nikah papers. Later the father came home with witnesses and everyone formally asked the girl about her approval. She approved and signed. She now complains why noone asked her formally before the groom and his witnesses signed the papers. Does it make any difference sheikh?

If your father was representing you by your authorization and was present with the guardian of the girl, even if you weren’t on the phone, the marriage is correct.

I want to ask you about the marriage without a legal form, I mean when the wali of the woman and two witnesses and also the admition of her are completed and present but without writing the act of marriage. Is this marriage acceptable?

This marriage is correct but it is not recommended as so many similar marriages took place and ended up by the husband denying such a marriage.

Sheikh,I heard that a girl can keep a condition in the nikkah contract that she can ask for divorce,What if she didnt use it then,can she ask for the same condition after the contract is done.

No, she can’t. as long as the contract is done without conditions, they can’t add things to it unless the husband agrees.

If a muslim marries a non-muslim, not ahle kitaab but hindu. Will his marriage count? And everytime he has sex with her even after an official marriage contract it will be considered doing zina with that non-muslim woman.
