Should a Muslim sister get a divorce from a husband who just prays quickly just to get finished, goes to Jumuah (but hates it), fasts Ramadan, but does not have any real knowledge of Islam to teach his family, doesn’t read Quran, Hadith, he tells lies. I have been divorced for over 12 years now. My x husband has been remarried and has another child with his current wife. He and I have 2 children together. He hasn’t financially supported our children for the past 4 years and his reasoning is because I divorced him, he doesn’t have to pay for his children anymore. He lives in another country so he doesn’t even see his children. Is there any ruling as to the responsibility of the father over the children even after a divorce?

Even if he divorced his wife, he must still support his children even if they live in another country or even if his ex wife remarried. It is his responsibility to support them.

My husband doesn’t feel attraacted to me at all and we don’t speak to eachother much. He has said divorce to me once and explain to me that its because I’m not attractive,he thinks I’m ugly. Is he allowed to divorce me for these reason?

If he lied and you accepted him as a husband on the grounds that he wasn’t married, in this case you should file a case against him with the Islamic judge or from the Islamic center so that you can seek divorce on the grounds that he lied.

Does the following scenario count as 1 divorce or 2 divorce? i tell my wife that if she leaves me it will be a divorce, then she leaves me but she dont want divorce. after a few days i decide i will not divorce and wish to keep her . but i then told her over the phone that it is still a divorce and it’s over. i said this over the phone without the intention of divorce but to put her in the spot and test to see if she really want to come back to me. she did not know that i decided to keep her. until later.
