ANSWER: You must not agree to shake your hands with non mahrams; as this is sinful, plus it is prohibited to sit and mix freely with them. Let obeying Allah be your priority.

I know the virtues of maintaining kin ship as it is strongly recommended in Islam and there is curse on breaking the kinship,but in my case maintaining kinship is resulting in commiting sins like Gibah and other sins. I haven’t talked to this cousin in 2 or 3 years because he does haram things and he loved me. Since we can only talk whatsapp to keep kinship (hes abroad) private messaging is too much fitnah. ANSWER: No, you must not communicate with him whatsoever as he is not mahram to you! You are obliged to keep ties with your kinship who are mahrams to you and the womenfolk in your family. Repent to Allah while showing deep remorse and sincerity and break off all communication with him.

What exactly is considered cutting kinship ties? With regards to my relatives, we live our own lives, mind our own business, so we don’t talk much to each other. We have no problems; just have nothing to say. Especially since we’re in different countries, don’t speak the same language, and barely know each other since we never became close. Is this okay?

My parents got divocred years ago and the whole family got in a big fight. My mom raised me, brother and sister alone. I would like to unite the family and both sides made mistakes. I dont no where to start. The contact stopped for almost 15 years. My mom one time stop talking with me when i reached out to a family member and boycotted me. I find no support in my family.
