ANSWER:

No, you must not communicate with him whatsoever as he is not mahram to you!

You are obliged to keep ties with your kinship who are mahrams to you and the womenfolk in your family.

Repent to Allah while showing deep remorse and sincerity and break off all communication with him.

 

I haven’t talked to this cousin in 2 or 3 years because he does haram things and he loved me. Since we can only talk whatsapp to keep kinship (hes abroad) private messaging is too much fitnah. We have a whatsapp group with many people, should I be friendly there? Am I obliged to talk to him at all? Or at least can I keep away until he is married?

What exactly is considered cutting kinship ties? With regards to my relatives, we live our own lives, mind our own business, so we don’t talk much to each other. We have no problems; just have nothing to say. Especially since we’re in different countries, don’t speak the same language, and barely know each other since we never became close. Is this okay?
