How should we behave and talk with non Muslims, like, when we see non Muslim doctors or even our neighbours or people on the streets? Should we speak in a polite manner?

Yes, you have to be kind and follow the prophet Muhammad salla Allahu alahi wa sallam example without humiliating yourself.

I’m a normal happy person with nothing to lose, since Allah has blessed me with so much. However, at times in my life I made the mistake of developing close relationships with depressed people. This as result got me into trouble since I unknowingly got involved in their problems.Now I always stay away from them. Would this be a sign of arrogance?

Its not a sin, if those people are not your kins. However, it would have been more rewarding if you would have helped them to come out of their depression by advising and guiding them.

Sheikh, I still want to be muslim. I do believe in Allah but sometimes I don’t know what happens. If I turn to Allah again and become practicing, how will I know that Allah is with me or He has forgiven me?

You can’t know that unless you remain steadfast on Islam and practice it until you die!

I am a medical student preparing for post graduation exams. So is there any relaxation in terms of praying only fard prayers or praying at home only. Like a man that comes to the Prophet (saw) and said that I will do only the bare minimum and the Prophet (saw) said that the person will be in Jannah if he spoke truth.

Your must pray in the masjid with the congregation. As for the sunnah prayers, this is up to you. The more you follow the sunnah, the more Barakah you will get in your life.

My question is that as I am saying my prayer regularly and more than my friends why they are more successful than me? Sometimes religious belief got shaken off by seeing this that they are more successful than me by giving less effort, doing less hard work and saying no prayers at all? My another question is that why Christians and Jewish are more successful than Muslims? Even though they don’t believe?

Wealth and poverty are a test, health and illness are a test… everyone is tested. And there are also successful muslims. Allah tests everyone with what would be a test according to His judgement and wisdom! Some pass the test while others fail!

Is it permissible to refuse to eat food from food that has already been bitten by another Muslim? I’ve been told that Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings be upon him) used to share his glass of water with multiple sahaba directly.

A year and a half ago, my iman was high. I balanced my dunya and akhira. I feared Allah and I prayed. Overtime, Shaytaan came to me. Slowly and slowly i became worse and worse. And now today, my iman and fear of Allah cannot even be compared to how I felt a year and a half ago. My worship is pretty much the same, but how I feel is way different. I know how to increase iman and what not. But I’m becoming less and less interested in the deen. Every now and then, I’d have really hgh iman days but for the most part – it’s pretty much tthe same. And the level of my ibadah is the same for like the past year. Any tips for holding onto Islam and not following the FOOTSTEPS of Shaytaan.

I shall be grateful if you kindly let me know if it is true that if a Muslim does not talk to his brother for three days or more his prayers are not accepted and his sins are not forgiven despite his repeated requests to Allah for forgiveness and even in the month of Ramadan. If yes then does it apply to real brothers and sisters or to any Muslim relative?

This applies for any two muslims, but in the case of blood relatives this can lead to severing the ties of kinship and it is haraam, you have to seek reconciliation and the one who says salam first will be rewarded more. The prayer is not affected by this.

am I also going to be held acountable for thoughts?? I really do mean to feel this way, I really just can’t help it, its so hard I feel like I just don’t have iman, that’s my problem, everytime I try to strive to get better the thoughts get worse, everything becomes so hard …
