There was a heated conversation between me and my wife in which she was asking me “are we divorced”. I was saying yes at the time not intentionally answering her question. I didn’t give her divorce or nothing. It didn’t even come out of my lips. What is the rulling?

Saying yes to such a question is considered to be a divorce.

I would like to ask a question. Please respond to me as I am new to islam. In islam, can husband divorce his wife as his family (mother and father) didn’t accept the wife because of the past history? Is it right in the husband’s part? The family puts the pressure on the son to give divorce and says that if he will not give divorce he cant see them when they dies. But husband didn’t want to give divorce?

They don’t have this right and the husband is sinful for such divorce.

I live in Jeddah and came on dependent visa on my wifes job visa. I tried to find job based on my qualification (MBA-marketing from Australia), but no success because of my visa status, as i am not allowed to work. So i want to go back to India where I can easily find the job. I am also well-off with money as I receive rental income. It was my wife decision to live in Saudi with her parents and wanted to work. I want to take her back to India and she is refusing. My question is that, if I go to sharia court would they will inform the ministry to cancel her job visa and send her back with me. She said the courts here can easily nullify the marriage if the wife ask for KHULA.

I don’t believe that the court has anything to do with that as there is a contract and prior approval from you. If she is not willing to go back with you, you can divorce her and remarry a better woman or take another wife.

If a husband tells his wife ‘from now henceforth you sieze to be my wife’, is it a divorce?

If he intended it, yes it is divorce. It depends on his intention.

My wife has had a jinn in her and has had it taken out Alhamdulilah , but there is still one there or some thing jinn related as a year on and she is still very sick and the doctors can’t find anything. My question is if she requests a divorce on the grounds she’s had enough and cannot deal with the marriage, is it valid?

This is valid as it is affecting her.

There is a sister who has disease of PCOS -these are small cysts in ovaries which prevents a woman from having monthly periods. She has been divorced on 4th august, but her menses did not come as they are not regular and don’t come every month .She wants to know whether she can take pills for three months to have menses so that she can count her iddah?

My husband gave one divorce after that six month later one day he wasdrunk said i divorce u i divorce u but did not remember we ask mufti he said two divorce were applied and renew our nakiha.After 18 months he said if u went to ur parent home I will divorce u next day Infront of him I went parent home he gave me permission with i went withmy uncle he SMS never came again I left u .Mufti said ur divorced but he refuse I am in my parent home From 18 months and apply for khulabec i think i am divorce but before my case went to Arbitration court where khula certificate issue i think i am wrong i regularly watch PEACE tv please help me and tell me wht should i do ur my last hope pl guide me.

Assalamu alaikum This is an issue for the court to give the verdict in. However, the divorce of a drunk doesn’t take place.

Can I ask for divorce if my husband doesnt work we live @ my parent. He does receive money from the government. But im not pleased. He finds working hard cause he has ADD (other form of ADHD). We found out after marriage. He always stays home sitting in my room. I bring his food upstairs ect. I dont like to have intercourse with him. I do love him and he is religious. But i dont want to be married to him, and am affraid that i cant give him his rights. And disobey Allaah doing so.

This is up to you! You have to evaluate and weigh the situation especially if you have children together. You can divorce him if you are unable to live with him or give him his rights fully!

My friend & her husband are divorced. They are battling custody of their son (7 years) in court. The husband wants one of his friends to give evidence against the woman saying she is carrying on with a married kafir man. In fact she IS carrying on and it is a known fact to everyone. But as it is a matter that will cause public embarrassment to this woman, is it permissible for the friend to give evidence against her? Pls reply by email

Assalamu aalikom He can’t accuse her of adultery without 4 witnesses. But he can say that she is staying with a Kafir if he has evidences of this and this would be sufficient to strip her of the custody.

If some one wanted to divorce her wife and she just gave birth to a child and under the bleeding of birth (nafaas) then wats the procedure of giving the divorce?

You have to wait until she is pure from her bleeding. Once she is pure,you can divorce her.
