Sheikh i wanted to know whether in a democracy it is okay to be a lawyer (private or gov). Would becoming a lawyer mean to rule by law other than the one decreed? I want to be a lawyer and not a judge.

ANSWER: If one is working against Islam and Muslims, their salary is haram. Also, if they are taking cases and applying the rule of secular states, this is forbidden as one can only rule with the Islamic law except in cases that he is defending the rights of the oppressed and the likes.

What is the rule of keeping quran in one’s residence? Where should i place it? I knew that i have to keep it in the highest place of a room,but in my dorm i don’t have such a place so i keep it on the highest shelf, but there are a few more things too on that shelf, what should i do?

ANSWER: You don’t need to place it in the highest place in the room but you must not disrespect it.

We live in Jedda.My daughter Went into ihraam in Jedda WITHOUT condition as I forgot to inform her about it.Got to hotel in makka she started her menses which usually last 10days.We were adviced that she can remove her from the state of ihraam and there is no blame on her.No penalty applies due to her NOT being aware of having to had stipulated a condition attached to her niyyah. Is this correct.

ANSWER: No, this is not correct and totally baseless. She must remain in her state of Ihram until she is pure, have ghusul and then go back and make her Umrah without a new Ihram as she is already in Ihram.

A person asked me a question regarding why Allah created us if he new we would end up in heaven or hell. I gave the answer Allah does not decree it before but rather based on their deeds.They asked me that ournt our deeds also based on allah’s decree. I answered that it is based on how we choose right and wrong. Is this correct or have I answered anything wrong.
