my 13 yr old son listens to music from school & outside & then wants to listen to the same on YouTube at home. Compared 2 his peers, he selects songs with good lyrics but still they’re with music & by modern singers. I try to dissuade him Islamically but he responds saying if I don’t approve, he will continue 2 listen as he enjoys it but outside home. How 2 counsel & make him give up?

ANSWER: You must hold your ground and tell him that if he does it outside the house, he is the one responsible and he will be punished for that in hell but not you are parents, as you are obliged to prevent him from such haram.

Is istinja necessary for upcoming salah as wadu broke by hadas Or air coming out from body or we have simply perform wadu

ANSWER: You must not do istinja for breaking wudu due to passing wind! Only renewal of wudu is needed.

I want to ask about the false belief which some attribute to awliya. They say only Allah has wujood, this universe has no wujood. That means me and I have no wujood, we are just like miraj in desert, images, and have no wujood.These persons say some big awliya have said this.They say if we say we have wujood it would be shirk with Allah’s wujood

ANSWER: You must not listen nor take any Islamic knowledge from these people as they’re deviant Sufis. Their belief in wehdatul wojood is blatant kufr and blasphemy. They are falsifying the Quran where Allah tells us about creating us and everything else in the universe and they claim that this is all a lie!

Is it necessary to pray the Sunnah prayer during duhar, asar, maghrib and esha prayer with kasar prayer?

ANSWER: It is not from the Sunnah to pray sunnah prayers of dhuhr, maghrib and isha when traveling. Other than these you can pray any voluntary prayers you wish. It is highly recommended to pray sunnah of Fajr and Witr even during traveling.

After making wudu or ghusl, I say: “Ashhadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluhu.” Sometimes I say this after I have dried myself completely with my towel. Other times I say it before I dry, and sometimes I say it while I am drying. Is all of this permissible, or must I say it at a specific time?

ANSWER: This is only to be recited after wudu and not after ghusal.

Alhamdullilah my daughter is 5 yrs old and memorising surah’s from the quran now she is in surah alaq ( iqra bi ismi)is she bound to do sajda tilawat everytime in the last verse as she keeps on repeating the verse for memorising or one time is enough?

ANSWER: She doesn’t need to perform the sajdah as this is not mandatory especially when memorizing the Quran.

Sheikh, this is regarding the hadith that says to dust the bed before we sleep. Is it okay if we dust anytime or do the have to specifically dust it before lying down? Also, do we have to dust it with our upper garment or with anything it is permissible? please clarify

ANSWER: You do this before lying down or if you leave your bed, even if its for 5 minutes. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever goes to his bed, he should dust his bed three times, because he doesn’t know what was left behind”

I have a friend who left islam few years back. I met him recently and asked him regarding the matter why he left islam. He gave me an example saying there is a verse in quran saying”no one can say the gender of the child” but after the discovery of ultra sound/gender scan alims changed to”how the child will be good bad etc” he said I love the way how theychange the translation to make it a miracle

Here in my society people often say bismillah when they hear the call for Adhaan. Iso is it something from sunnah to say bismillah when the muazin starts the Adhaan?
