Sheikh I want to ask you about a story that I keep finding on the net and in some books and even in the classes that I went here in Kuwait I heard about it. There is this incident about Maria the Christian slave from Egypt that was a gift for our Prophet and the one of the wives of the Prophet Mohammed (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam). They say that Hafsa caught the Prophet with Maria in her room being close to her. And she became very upset of the fact that he (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) was nice to Maria in her room. And that he didn’t respect her privacy and her house. So he promised that he will not touch Maria again with the condition that she will not tell to anyone about this. But she went and told Aisha, meanwhile the Prophet had a revelation through which he was informed that Hafsa went and told his secret and she was surprised how come he found out. And he told her that Allah had informed him about her going and telling his secret. Is this authentic or not?

I would like to know if a person is allowed to have a mental image of the prophet (May Allah’s peace and blessings be on him) when remembering him? This is easy to imagine through reading about the physical appearance of the prophet saw e.g. beard, beautiful smile, average height etc? Is it permissible to have this image?

It appears to be alright as long as it is only an image in your mind.

I have seen a Hadith which says that the Prophet(saw) use to smile (Not to laugh) , and I have also seen the Hadith which says that someone saw him sitting crossed legs in the morning after fajr till sunrise. Now, Is it Sunnah not to laugh but smile and to sit crossed legs ?

The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam used to both smile and laugh. As for sitting crossed leg, I do not know such a hadeeth.

I am a new revert to islam and my relatives are against this. When I try to teach them about islam they say about the marriage of prophet muhammad(saw) , that he married 11 wives. I just want to know that why he married those 11 wives while in the quran Allah commands the believers to marry till 4 wives. If the quran says to marry till 4 wives then why did prophet muhammad(saw) married 11 wives?

The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam was affected by black magic but not while he was sick and he had nothing to do with his death.

It is narrated that Abdullah Ibn Zubair (radhiallahu anhu) saw a man raising his hands and making dua before completing his salah. When the person had completed his salah, Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Zubair (radhiallahu anhu) went up to him and said: “Verily, Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) used to only raise his hands and make dua after completing his salah”(Majmauz Zawaaid, vol. 1, pg. 169). Is the above mentioned narration authentic? If yes, then doesn’t it justify the practice of raising hands after salaah to make duaa?

I know grave worshiping is wrong but one of my friend who follow this culture ask me a question that when we convey salam to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in prophet masjid in madina did we get reply what is the answer of this? What he says is we get answer of the Salam that means we can ask through prophet?
