QUESTION: I went to a university festival years ago and there were props available for money. I used the props for taking pictures but due to a huge crowd we were pushed out of the hall and I forgot to pay. ANSWER: You going there & buying the props, taking pictures and all this is not permissible in the first place due to such events having haram activities like music, free mixing etc. Estimate an approximate amount & pay that amount to any poor or needy Muslim while repenting to Allah.

QUESTION: If a Muslim guy takes a group photo with their Muslim Student Association at their school and there are females most in hijab in the photo standing far from him on the opposite side and the photo is posted and shared, is this sinful? If sinful, is it sinful for every view?

QUESTION: For men, covering his awrah (i.e from navel to the knees) is madatory if he is at home or in private space with his parents? Can he make Dua’a and do dhikr in that state?

ANSWER: No problem in doing duaa while his awrah is covered like this. He must conceal his awrah from his parents, siblings and children. Only his wife can see that.

QUESTION: If someone wants to pray alone in a kafir country in a place where he cannot hear adhan and iqamah, is both of them mandatory?

ANSWER: If adhan has already been given in any masjid in the city, regardless whether you heard it or not, you can pray without giving the adhan. Giving iqamah is a highly recommended sunnah but its not mandatory.

QUESTION: I have a 4 month old baby. He wakes up every 2-2.5 hours at night to eat. So,sometimes it happens that I have only 10 to 15 minutes left for Fajr prayers.At that time, my child wants to eat too or he needs me to comfort him for getting back to sleep after morning feeding.What should I do in that case?Should I finish my prayer and let him cry or should I leave my prayer and attend my baby?

ANSWER: You should pray first. Nothing will happen if the baby cries for sometime, in fact it’s good for his lungs.

QUESTION: A lot of my friends wear heavy makeup outside. I know they won’t listen if I tell them to stop wearing it completely so what I do is I encourage them to wear less makeup, telling them that they don’t need it, so that there is less sin. Is there any problem in this? Am I sinful for still allowing them to wear a little bit of makeup?

ANSWER: You must not comment on their make up positively nor encourage them to wear more or less rather show them your resentment of it as it angers Allah and do not ever go out with them in public while they are not probably covered.

QUESTION: If I give sadaqah as a father, do my wife and child automatically benefit from it as well? Or does my intention have to be that it is in the name of my family?

ANSWER: Prior intention is mandatory.

QUESTION: Is it permissible to make duʿā for Allāh to increase my height with no transgression? For example I only ask, “Ya Allāh I ask you to increase my height.” Or is it better for me to leave it all to Allāh as this is not in my control.

ANSWER: If you’ve crossed the age beyond which the height doesn’t increase then you should not make this dua. Otherwise, this is permissible.

QUESTION: In congregational prayers the imam of our masjid prays so fast that we cannot bow (Ruku) and prostrate(Shijda) properly. Furthermore we have to finish our Salah till Taslim and sometimes till Tashahud. Is our prayer valid?
