We are always told to ponder over the Quran but sheikh can you guide us as to HOW we should ponder over the Quran. Bearing in mind most of us don’t know Arabic, Sheikh can you tell us what do you do when you ponder over the Quran, is there a method? Do you ask yourself certain questions?

ANSWER: Pondering is done when you know the meaning of what you’re reciting and reading its tafseer.  If you don’t know Arabic, you should read the translation (Sahih international is very good in sha Allah) In english you can refer to tafseer Ass’idi, and if not possible, then tafseer Ibn Katheer.

Today around the world the most Muslims are fasting for the coronavirus, coming together, fasting and then asking Allah for forgiveness and aasking for it to stop. I said it’s wrong but my cousin got angry and said whays wrong it’s good to fast on a monday and she’s going to do it anyway. I said prophet never did it. What’s the right opinion on this. My heart is saying no.
