There is a person whom I know. He is 22 yrs old. Nowadays he suddenly gets up at midnight and then he can’t sleep unless he masturbates. This means he is not able to sleep at all unless he masturbates. He can’t bear fasting to subside desires. his parents are not ready to get him married neither he has the means. He was asking is it allowed in Islam to masturbate under this circumstance?

QUESTION: In the quran it says that salah protects from sins. So if I pray 5 times a day then Allah will protect me from all sins. Then what’s the point of fasting to suppress the sexual desire if salah can already protect from sins?
