ANSWER:

This is related to the fact that he is fasting physically but lies, cheats and fights with others which renders his reward as zero, in addition to the sins acquired which defies the purpose of fasting. 

Sheikh I just read a hadith where the prophet pbuh said: it may be that a fasting person gets nothing but hunger and it may be that a person who prays qiyam gets nothing but a sleepless night. is this relating to one’s intentions?
