Ibn Abbas once woke up in the night and found the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam offering night prayers. he joined him to his left and the Prophet corrected him by pulling him to his right.

Please send me Authentic hadiths and its reference for: Joining the farz prayers along with someone already in state of prayer by giving indication to join.

Here is the musnad about the hadith which said is not authentic.. On the authority of Harith Al ‘Ashari (RAA), it is reported that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:I declare obligatory upon you five things; Allah (SWT)has commanded me to do so.
