ANSWER:

You cannot sit before offering tahiyattul masjid. If this is the athan that precedes the khutba, you must pray it as soon as you enter so that you can listen to the khutba instead of waiting for the athan to finish. 

People when entering during the masjid tend to be standing as the azaan is going on usually during jummah prayer, is there any etiquette to be standing during azaan as we need to pray aatihayatul masjid afterwards the azaan. Or can we sit as soon we enter and let finish azaan and then stand and pray the nafl prayerof masjid.
