You must not exceed in defending yourself. therefore, you can use what is necessary to defend yourself but without going out of your way to be as evil as he is.

A lot of people would take this and consider preemptive attacks as legitimate ways in defending oneself while it is actually legitimizing hostility and attacking others.

Does Allah Az wa Jal punish in this world to those who insult our beloved Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, and Is it OK to participate in protest,or just woe to them?

There are some people against Islam in the UK, if you see them on the street and they swear at you, are you allowed to attack them or if they hurting another Muslim?
