This is not permissible unless he is poor or needy!

If I buy a luxury car on installments and build a house in installments, i am not labeled as poor or need to take from zakat! 

The loan that can be paid from zakat is a loan that the owner took for an emergency such as a surgery or a losing business and now people want their money from him and he is about to enter jail etc. 

My husband had taken a loan frm a bank which claims to be share’ah bank and now he wants to clear it asap. I used to earn before marriage and have some amount on which i have to give zakah. Can i and my family give him zakah money. Also, can savings account interest be used to clear this loan. As in india it’s difficult to get current account and we receive interest every 3 months
