ANSWER:

Allah mandates upon you to uphold ties of kinship with them therefore, you must visit them and call them often to check if there is anything you can do for them. As far as your mother, they are not from her kinship and she is not obliged to meet with them if they don’t like her.

My grandparents and my father’s side relatives dont like me, my brother and my mother too.so what are our duties towards them? And is it compulsory to perform?

I live abroad. So I call my relatives to uphold the ties of kinship only for the sake of Allah. But they do not receive my call. They don’t even reply to my messages where “assalamualaikum” is written. Am I getting rewarded for this? And are they sinful? If I am not being rewarded, I won’t do it anymore.
