Reciting Surah Fateha is obligatory, the other Surah after that is a Sunnah whether in loud or silent prayers, including Imam. You will be missing out on the reward though if you skip the other Surah.

The follower is not allowed to recite anything in loud rakah except the Fatiha. 

Is the surah read after fatihah obligatory? also , in silent prayers, is it obligatory for the imaam to read both the fatihah and another surah or can he read only fatiha?

In India, there are not Masajid for women everywhere. So, if travelling to work or other purposes, and the time for Salah comes, is it allowed we pray the Fard Rakahs sitting in the vehicle we are travelling in (train/bus/auto), in the direction we are heading towards? Provided that the time for Salah will get over by the time we reach home.
