Those who fight for the sake of their tribe or country but not for the sake of Allah would be considered part of this hadeeth. but if they are fighting to deter oppression and to defend their own families, this is true Jihad.

How to understand the following hadith in the present days context: “He is not one us who calls for `Asabiyyah, (nationalism/tribalism) or who fights for `Asabiyyah or who dies for `Asabiyyah.”
