QUESTION: It’s been more than 11 yrs since my husband has almost stopped praying except for Jummah and during Ramadan. Have advised him many times. Have asked for a divorce but he doesn’t want to. He lives in my apartment. Is it permissable to kick him out or go to court to divorce him?

QUESTION: I saw your video about women’s prayer where you said that they Should cover their whole body except their face and hands during prayer. What about the forearms? What if some or all of the area of the arm between the elbow and the wrist is uncovered? Will the prayer be valid?

ANSWER: Of course not! Hand means from fingertips till wrist! Below that is called arms and not hands! The arms MUST be fully covered (till the wrists)!

QUESTION: If the monetary value of (gold) or of (gold+cash) or of (gold+silver+cash) passes the silver nisab but not the gold nisab then do we pay zakah? Or is the silver nisab limited to only if (silver) or (silver+cash) passes it?

ANSWER: If the cash + silver reaches the value of 595 grams of silver, or the cash alone, you must give zakat on it. Similarly, if the cash + gold reach the value of 85 grams of pure gold, there is zakat on it.

QUESTION: Approximately how long was the Prophet’s prayer (Peace be upon him)? If someone’s prayer may exceed twenty minutes when just praying fardh, is it normal?

ANSWER: We don’t have an estimate for the length of the prophet’s prayer salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. 20 minutes can be acceptable if someone is praying alone and he is not repeating things or doing things out of OCD.

QUESTION: The recommendation in quran of Reciting quran is at tahajjud or after fajr? Or do we hv to recite in Salah or except the Salah ?
