shaikh, can we wear gold coloured watches and eyewear frames,sunglasses which is not pure gold.,even I see imams of masjid e Kaaba wear gold coloured eyewear. Is it permissible to wear?

ANSWER: If it is silk that is natural, you cannot wear it if you are a man.

sheikh, I always wear my pants above the ankles because of the torment. It’s cold outside, so what I do is I put my pant in my socks so the pants don’t go bellow the ankles. However are the socks and the boots for snow that i wear considered as covering my ankles ? Thank you.

I saw in a hadith where it’s been reported by Umu Salama that the dress or cloth the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh ) loved the most was the qamis. Therefore, I wish to know whether wearing a qamis a Sunna ( a rewarded act or practice?

ANSWER: Men must not wear garments that go below their ankles. You can wear thick, wollen socks to keep yourself warm.

Why do most Arabs scholars and imams wear red head scarf as it is not part of the sunnah…why don’t they wear turban instead eg black which is part of the sunnah and recommend by our beloved prophet Muhammad alaihi salam mentioned in jamia tirmidhi…i also see that the Jewish people wear it…so isn’t the imam al haram and Madina and other scholars imitating the Jews…

ANSWER: This has got nothing to do with the sunnah. The turban is a cultural thing. Wearing the Saudi white or red head scarf is just a cultural thing. Making them similar to the Jews is extreme and an exaggeration!

I know for men gold and silver is haram to put on,so can I wear an artificial necklace or a bracelet with Allah’s name on it ?

ANSWER: Gold is totally prohibited for men and not silver. It is permissible for men to wear silver. You must not wear necklaces or bracelets as this is imitating women and kafirs.

Brother is it haram to wear designer clothes and footwear like armani , lacoste or Ralph lauren because all of these clothing brands have a small picture of animals so is it haram to wear it and pray salah with these on is my prayer valid??

ANSWER: If the logo doesn’t show the face as in Puma, this is permissible as it is a shade and hollow. But if it has a shape that is big and visible such as Lacoste, this is not permissible.

I’m a boy. Can I wear shorts and go out, knowing I’m going to be praying with shorts on? And what if I forgot and im forced to pray with shorts

ANSWER: It is not permissible to wear shorts in Islam. You must repeat prayers in which your awrah was exposed. For a man, this is the area between his navel and knees. You have no excuse in wearing shorts and then when it is prayer time, you say I don’t have proper clothes on!

sheikh, is there any hadith which says to cover head for men? Does covering the head with keffiyah or kufi is sunnah or it’s just a part of tradition & culture?
