QUESTION: I have suffered an eye injury resulting in blindness. Daily, my parents recite Surah Ar-Rahman and blow on my eye three times at the verse “فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ”. They insist on this practice but haven’t explained its origins or validity. Can you provide information on the origins and validity of this practice according to Islamic teachings?

QUESTION: Can Muslims study ayurvedic system of medicine? They teach that ayurveda originated from brahma & then the knowledge had been passed to the humans through other gods,there are some other things which they relate to their gods. I skip those parts. ANSWER: It is permissible to study medicine that is based on science and that would benefit others. However, if such studies are based on gods and kufr and it is not scientific, you must not continue in such a field as it has no benefit to it.

ANSWER: It seems that you should demand it from them in order to bury it but this is not mandatory but rather recommended as it is better than throwing it in the dustbin.
