ANSWER: If he calls Allah through the waseela of the buried dead as if they have a high status with Allah, this is an innovation and being there is a minor shirk But if he calls the dead themselves and ask them to ask Allah, this is major shirk.

QUESTION: I have heard of committing shirk due to ignorance can be excused and the knowledge is with Allah to know if a person is truly ignorant or has understood but rejects it. I explained shirk to my parents but they do not believe it is shirk to ask highly regarded people (who are not alive anymore) such as the ahlul bayt for help. QUESTION: My husband follows proper Deen but also believes in darga, fateha and I don’t. He wants me to be part of it with him and he tells me to obey him as per Islam.
