I was working in an organization which was dealing with riba. I informed my parents about it and I told them I am resigning but they didn’t allow me to do so. But as I know riba is a major sin I resigned without letting my parents know. So here I wanted know was I supposed to ask them again as I know they won’t allow me to do so?

You do not need their permission to quit your haram job.

I wanted to ask a question specifically based on the business I do which is online selling of jewellery. I currently sell a product which is a pet urn (cremation pendant for pets) where customers can store the ashes of theirs pets, I’m not actually taking part in any of the actual burning of any ashes, I am wondering if it is permissible of me to sell or not?

This is not permissible, as these are innovations in Islam.

One of my friends wants to settle in Malaysia or Indonesia because he has good business opportunity there. Is it fine to settle down in these countries?

Yes, as these are Muslim countries compared to USA or Europe.

Are we allowed to work in a company that deals with lot of things like manufacturing but also deals with financial services?

If there is riba involved but you work in the manufacturing branch with no AFFILIATION WITH riba, this is permissible.

If a person attained (educational) certificates from sitting exams that which they cheated in, can they use these certificates still to get into university or on a job application?

Yes, but he should repent to Allah and show sincere remorse.

An unmarried sister of age 25 (covers fully & strives to cover her eyes & be strict in all regards) is sick & may need a job to afford her diet needs. Her friend has a new learning center (Bayyinah Institute) . The sister sees Bayyinah having views against the Sunnah. At this job she would be a cleaning lady with flexible hours that won’t burden her illness & she can avoid men. Should she apply?

I recently lost my job and having difficulty finding one in my field of study. I am a UofT grad with BBA. Currently, I am working in a factory to help pay rent. I am looking for a better opportunity but it’s taking longer than usual. Is there anything I could do right now to get a better and respected job?

Make general dua’a to Allah and ask Him to help and provide for you. Increase your ibadah and dhikr!

I wanted to ask you my husband works as ticket seller and, is the profit he makes when selling a ticket, haram? Like for example, if a ticket cost 2000 he charges the person 2500 and that 500, he keeps in his pocket. Is this considered haram?

If this is a commission he is getting from the airlines, this is permissible.

What is it better in the eyes of Allah? Continuing to work in a non islamic bank in a Muslim country or moving to a non Muslim country to raise the children and being jobless?

Living in a Muslim land is always better for the Muslim in the eyes of Allah. But you must find a halal job.

One of our brothers will teach in a mixed medical college. He hates mixed education and al’hamduliLLAH practicing Deen. One of the reasons of his going there is that he has already agreed to work there. Secondly, his family lives there, Thirdly he will be condemning them for their ‘aml, Fourthly, It will be his temporary job, he will shift as soon as he gets any better opportunity that will be good for his Deen. Is it allowed for him to work there?

If he is able not to mix and he can segregate men from women and lower his gaze, this is permissible in sha Allah.
