ANSWER: This is totally baseless and nonsense! This superstitious belief has got nothing to do with islam.

Sheikh, there is a Hadith stating that whoever recites Ayat al Kursi after every fard salah the only thing stopping him from entering Jannah is his own death. How does this work? Does reciting ayat al kursi remove all sins big and small ? And is this Hadith authentic?
