Please where should one place the sutrah when praying? to his right or at the centre across where he is praying?

Is it permissible to do pray and do salaah whilst travelling on public/private transport? For example,on the bus/train? If permissible, How would this be done sitting down? Is it permissible to indicate different actions with just the eyes?
