ANSWER:

The sunnah is to give Salam when entering and when leaving a gathering. Asking others for duaa is not from the sunnah but it is permissible.

I have seen mnay Muslims when they greet they say the salam and when they depart apart from the salam they say please make dua for me, is this asking for dua from the sunnah? is it correct to say so?
