They should have worn it from the meeqat and not from Jeddah as they
had the intention to perform Umrah before Coming. They must slaughter
a ram each, in Makkah and give it to the poor there.

This question is on behalf of my grandparents. They came on a visit visa to Saudi Arabia. They wore their ihraam 2 days after reaching Jeddah when they were going for Umrah. They want to know if it was compulsory for them to wear ihraam when they started their journey. If yes,what is the expiation for this?

I live in Riyadh. And it happened to me couple of times while we on our way to Makkah or after reaching Makkah mine or my daughter’s period start before umrah. And we can’t exceed our stay for many valid reasons. Like husband’s office, affordability etc. So we ( me or my daughter) had to return home without performing umrah. Pls advice what to do.
