Allah says in 3:175 “It is only Shaitân (Satan) that suggests to you the fear of his Auliyâ’ (supporters and friends (polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him))) so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are (true) believers.”

What you are suffering from is from Satan as this is one of his ways of making people go astray. When a person’s Iman is weak and his trust on Allah is not strong, Satan attacks that person and bombards him or her with doubts, depression and fear of everything.

There is no cure for you except turning to Allah and seeking His help.

First, you have to trust Allah without any doubts or hesitation. You have to know and believe that everything in this universe is in His hands. Nothing happens without His knowledge and will.

Secondly, you have to maintain saying the Athkar of the morning and evening. You have to pray to Allah and supplicate in your prostration, between the athan and Iqamah and in the last third of the night.

Thirdly, this isn’t strange or one of a kind. A lot of people get similar feelings but they all get over it by what I have mentioned to you above.

May Allah cure your fears and grant you dependence on Him.

Would like to now please if a muslim is suffering from being fearful, and anxious, as well as feeling of cowardice. How should he overcome this problem, What practical steps can one take to overcome these feelings, which make him very depressed
