The Prophet salla allahu alaihi wa sallam prohibited his companion from fasting more than the fasting of Dawood, peace be upon him who used to fast every alternate Day!

Why can you fast for only 15 days a month? My mother told me I can’t fast like dawud alayhi Salam do I have to obey her or can I fast?

Is it permissible to fast continuously, I don’t mean al wisal, I mean a regular nafl fast everyday.I am a girl so I would not fast everyday because I can’t fast for a few days each month because of my menses. And I would not fast on forbidden days, this isn’t literally perpetually right?
