Sitting for a short pause is sunnah.

When stand up from second prostration to another rakah we see some people sit and stand and other people just stand without sitting. Which one is correct?

Recently I was in a shopping mall in the UK and I had just realised I had just about half an hour until Asr adhan and hadn’t done my dhur salah yet. My mother and aunty had gone off somewhere and I was alone with my freind and we are young. I could not tell the direction to pray in as the sun was blocked. What should I have done? I prayed after, is it accepted?
