It is the sunnah that people send the family of the deceased food so that they don’t cook while in their grief. This food should be for the family of the deceased and not for guests and other mourners. 

When someone dies in our area, they don’t cook food in that particular house (in that house where the death took place). The other people of the village provide them food and cooked vegetables on that day to serve the people who came for funeral. They believe something due to which they don’t cook food on that day. Is this belief correct?
