ANSWER:

There’s nothing prescribed in the sunnah about this. 

However one must avoid any kind of extravagance in weddings. 

They should spend according to their own capacity without being extravagant or showing off.

What is the minimum amount or wealth for a marriage which is to be done in a Islamic way? How can a low income person afford a social marriage without taking money from others?
