Itsighfar is done by asking Allah for forgiveness! It is only a Duaa and nothing else.

Repentance on the other hand involves quitting, remorse, intending not to go back and to do it before your time is over.

What is the difference between Istighfar (seeking fogiveness) and Tawbah (repentance)? I thought that they are the same thing?

Can you kindly answer for myself and some family/friends if it permissable to gather on Christmas day to eat together. The purpose of the gathering is friends and family feel holidays are the only time to see each other and spend quality time together. I personally don’t take part in this.
