…that I have told them I dont agree so such practices. Normally the boy’s parents suggest meeting outside in cafes or mall (their and our whole family). Is this advisable to meet them in public? My parents don’t want to visit their house or call them to ours, they too prefer meeting outside. I feel its a public place and when the time comes to speak to the boy it might be in a situation where we might have to sit on a separate table and maybe there could be intermixing of their and our family since both may not consider it against Islam. Please suggest a procedure how a boy or his family meet the girl’s family and proceed to decide for a proposal.

Don’t get involved in such meetings. Choose a practicing woman and then tell your mother to see her. You are the one who is getting married.
