It is true that the Quran and Sunnah are the sources of Islam but we can’t understand them without the understanding of the Salaf. Therefore, we need the four schools of thought and other schools as well to compare their opinions to the Quran and Sunnah and to distinguish which is closer to the Quran and Sunnah. They were more knowledgeable than us in all Islamic sciences.

What is the best refutation for those who claim that the four madhabs do not need to be followed and only following what is in the Qur’an and Sunnah and disregard any opinions of the madhabs.
