A mursal hadeeth is what a tab’iee reports to the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam and it is not an authentic hadeeth as he didn’t meet the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam and we don’t know whether he heard it from a companion or from another tab’iee.

What is a mursal hadeeth,and can it be used to establish legal (Fiqhi) rulings?
