It is an issue of dispute among scholars. The most authentic opinion is that as long as a person is still travelling and have not settled yet, he has the option to shorten prayers providing that there is no masjid in his vicinity. Therefore, 7 days is not enough to settle down.

Up to how many days is the limit for travelling and connecting salah to be applicable on a person? example travelling away from home city for more then 7 days which means the new city i shall be visiting i will be there for 7 days before returning home.
