One sheep sacrificed for a family by the head of the family is enough.
This is for those who are not going for Hajj. Those performing Hajj if they are making Tamattu or Qiran, they must sacrifice one sheep. One who is making Ifrad doesn’t have to sacrifice.
Prohibition of Cutting the nails,removing the hair from the first of dhul hijjah till the sacrifice is done ,is only for the one who gives the sacrifice,that is , the head of the family. Other members of the family can do that.
Those going for hajj are not included in this prohibition except when they enter in the state of Ihram.
