Celebrating the birthday of the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam is an innovation and people who call for this are deviant.

There is a shiekh by the name of Muhammed al Yaqoubi who claims to be the descendant of prophet Muhammed SAW. Recently, my uncle has been listening to his lectures and fatwas and feels that what he is teaching is correct however I’ve heard that this sheikh encourages acts such as celebrating the prophet’s (SAW) birthday. Is this shiekh ok to follow and if not how do I convince my uncle not to?
