As long as they have entered in this deal unknowing that it is forbidden and committed to pay and encountered an amount of loss, it is permissible to continue in it.
If they only paid one or two installments and they can end this transaction and leave it, this is a must.
If they have the ability to pay it off with lesser interest, they must do that. Otherwise, they can continue as they are doing that with remorse and hatred to what they are doing.
