If the reason was legitimate and beyond one’s control and you couldn’t by any chance pray it on time, it is permissible to join it with Isha

Suppose I’m unable to perform my Maghrib prayer due to a very valid reason but I manage to pray it after one third of the night passes along with my Esha prayer. So would my Maghrib prayer be accpeted or would it be considered that I missed my Maghrib?

My father is about 62 years old. He’s still pretty strong but just needs a chair to perform Salaah. Does he too have to go to the mosque (which is 3 minutes away from our house)? He claims that walking up the stairs of the building of the house is hard
