ANSWER:

Asking Allah for a sign right away is a transgression in Dua. 

He must proceed with whatever Islamic knowledge he has or ask someone he trusts.

Sheikh, when one has to act right away with something and they are uncertain about the Islamic ruling what should they do can they ask ALLAH for a sign right away to proceed or should they say Bismillah and act according to what they know or think is right or wrong?
