If he did not know the ruling over this issue, in sha Allah he is not sinful, but he should not do it again now that he knows the correct way.

Sheikh! Was going thru your fatwa questions here and i am actually in page 298 where it says that selling or buying cats is not allowed. Nowadays, hybrid cats are popular as pets and of course buying and selling are popular too. My brother is actually taking care of a hybrid cat which he bought from a pet shop.
