It is one of the good deeds to get together to study the Quran and the Sunnah and to study beneficial books of knowledge.
What is not permissible is to innovate by gathering for what is called as moulid and offering innovated salutations to the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam and may be dance and chant.

Sheikh in Pakistan people arrange religious gathering at hOme like invite friends and relatives and together they read Quran , send Durood on Our Beloved Prophet saw , and sometimes for zikr I want to know is it ok to do so.
