The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam ordered us to wash our hands when waking up. Therefore, it is mandatory to wash it.

However, in your case, you should look for a trust worthy scholar who you trust his knowledge, righteousness and commitment to Islam and you should follow him as you are not qualified to choose which is right and which is not.

Sheikh in fiqhi issue some scholars have difference of opinion in instructing whether it is wajib or mustahabb For example on the issue of washing hands upon awakening from sleep . Imam Ahmed said it is wajid and imam shafii said it is mustahabb . like in these conditions whose opinion i must follow ? iam not hambali nor shafii . and iam not even a scholar so how should i deal with these issues ?
