The most authentic hadeeth is the one mentioned in Saheeh Muslim that reciting this great Surah makes Satan run away from the house but without any mentioning of the 3 days as the hadeeth that your are referring to is not authentic.

However, there is an authentic hadeeth that states that reciting the last 2 ayah of this great Surah keeps the devil away for 3 days.

Reciting Surah Baqarah in the morning & in the night keeps the Shaitan away from our house for three days & three nights. Is it right?
